António Menezes is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Azores, Portugal, where he teaches and publishes in Applied Economics, Management and Finance. He was recently appointed Non Executive Member of the Board of Directors of TAP Portugal.
With an extensive professional experience, he has held several top management positions namely: CEO of PrivatAir; Member of the Board of Directors of EuroAtlantic Airways; CEO of SATA Airlines.
Academically there have been several achievements. With an academic background started at the New University of Lisbon (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), he has a degree in Economics, an Advanced Management Program from the Portuguese Catholic University, a Master’s and a PhD in Economics from Boston College. Menezes is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Fondazione Rodolfo Debenedetti, Luigi Bocconi University.
